My go-to on-the-go companions

My go-to on-the-go companions

I feel like Senna and I are on-to-go more often than not, and I love anything that helps make mom-life a little easier. So, in this post I’m sharing a few of my favorite travel items!!!

But first, a story…

One of my worst qualities, according to my husband (and mother), is that I treat my car like a giant trash can. From food wrappers to empty makeup containers, to baby diapers… yes, DIRTY DIAPERS. I know, it’s not something to be proud of, and yes I also know that dirty diapers don’t make your car smell great. Coulter, my husband, has found about 23 diapers too many in our trunk. Holding them up and shaking his head just saying “why?”. So, I decided to be a good wife and figure out a way to stop the stink and trunk trash, while still being able to be lazy. LOL. I found a travel diaper pail that I can just toss when full. It’s truly made my husband so much happier ;) You know, it’s the little things you do for each other in a marriage, right?

The Toss Diaper Pail

Toss™ Disposable Diaper Pail

  • Fill up pail then toss when full

  • Durable pail

  • Fits up to 30 newborn diapers

  • Great for home or travel

Personally, I leave Toss™ Disposable Diaper Pail in my trunk! But it could be great to keep in your diaper bag as well! Or even in your bedroom or family room … if you’re also like me and change your baby all over your house constantly ;) hahah

Changing tables are just merely a suggested changing station, right?

PS

Check out the video I made using the Toss Diaper Pail IRL on my Instagram. Senna is the cutest little diaper changee pre-hike!

Miracle® WildLove Cups

Miracle® WildLove Cups

  • 360 no spill edge

  • Great travel cup

  • Showcases well-loved and at-risk animals

  • Munchkin partnered with International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and The Whale Sanctuary Project on this cup

Senna uses these at our house as well as out and about. I love that I won’t come back and find a puddle of water on my new rug or all over the floor. I mean, the least amount of cleaning up we have to do (or make our husband/SO do, the better. Right!?

Deluxe Snack Catcher

  • 1 sealed snack bowl with a Click Lock™ lid and Munchkin's spill-proof guarantee

  • Ideal for dry snacks AKA puffs, cereal, crackers, etc…

  • Handle is a teether as well, so smart

  • BPA Free

Baby Food Feeder + Pacifier Clip

The Baby Food Feeder was a lifesaver!!! I put bananas in it while I was on a long road trip with Senna. I attached the handle of it to a Pacifier Clip and clipped it onto her car seat. It was the PERFECT distraction towards the end of our ride when she was hungry and had just about had enough! I also use them a lot at home when I don’t feel like cleaning up a post-meal mess and just want her to have an easy snack that isn’t puffs ;)

Thank you so much for sponsoring this post, Munchkin!

A quick trip to L'Auberge Hotel in Carmel

L'Auberge Hotel in Carmel ( it’s our favorite!)

DSCF8775.jpg

Since Coulter and I got married in Carmel, it has become one of our favorite places for a weekend getaway, of course! We've stayed at a few hotels while there and there are some INCREDIBLE options!!! L'Auberge has has become one of our favorites!!! It's a boutique hotel with gorgeous amenities, an amazing restaurant, spa, and it's right in the heart of Carmel.

LOCATION: We love the location since you can eat breakfast and just head a block out to the main street of Carmel for shopping and strolling!!! A quick walk to the beach and tons of AMAZING restaurants as well!

RESTAURANT: Award winning restaurant that serves an 8 course meal!!! WOW!!!! ...needless to say, your breakfast every morning while there will be sensational, even if you choose to opt out of the luxurious dinner option!

THE HOTEL: It's such a quaint and cozy atmosphere! The rooms have a charming feel but still feel fresh and new!!!! Our bathroom floor heated up, OMG! We had caramels waiting in the room when we arrived, the best I've ever had! Cookies came with our nightly turn down service (YUM)! The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful.... I mean I could go on and on. It's truly beautiful!

If you're taking off to Carmel anytime soon, I highly recommend staying here.

With love,

Chantelle

Alaska Lounge at JFK

SFO to JFK... New York is seriously amazing! Then, heading home, we got to hang at the Alaska Lounge at JFK. OMG IT WAS AMAZING!

THEY HAVE A PANCAKE PRINTER! Yup, you quite literally push a button and out pops two pancakes. Ah. Maze. Ing. Plus, they are the only domestic carrier with a barista in the lounge, which is awesome. I highly suggest you pop into the lounge if you're ever at JFK.

Date night in NYC

The Quin Hotel in NYC

DSCF4526.jpg

We had SUCH an amazing time in New York. We stayed downtown, then by Gramercy Park; we took the subway/train/ferry over to Point of Woods on Fire Island, and then came back to stay at The Quin Hotel by Central Park. It was SO fun getting to explore the city, take meetings, and have date nights with my hubby!

We saw Mean Girls on Broadway. Oh. M. Gee. IT IS A MUST! So hysterical and insanely well done, if you get the chance GO!

But this post is about The Quin Hotel. We had three dining experiences nearby that I adored:

1st - Sarabeth's (amazing breakfast and right across from Central Park!)

2nd - Trattoria Dell'Arte (INCREDIBLE Italian food and such a fun atmosphere)

3rd- The Quin Hotel room service

The Quin has such fun art and an amazing feel. The staff was so attentive and helpful, the gym was awesome, and the location was phenomenal! We absolutely loved our time staying there and cannot wait to come back again soon. Thank you for having us, Quin!

Hope you get the chance to explore NY and comment and let me know if you want more of our favorite NYC spots in another blog post.

My Hawaii Babymoon
DSCF4526.jpg

Who says you can't take your babymoon before your honeymoon?

Coulter and I got married May 12th and got a 'honeymoon" baby!!! We got married in Carmel and took 2 nights in Big Sur, our actual honeymoon was postponed to September due to Coulter's achilles surgery. So, since we got knocked up on our mini-moon we decided to take a babymoon pre-honeymoon and we headed off to relax in Hawaii!!!!!

DSCF4577.jpg

We partnered with Alaska Airlines, it has been our favorite airline for a while now!! It was tied with Virgin America, which they recently purchased, so they REALLY are our #1 airline all around now.  We hopped on our flight from SFO-OGG, and being a pregnant lady I proceeded to feel insanely nauseous pre-flight. The amazing flight attendant found out, via my husband, and brought me over some crackers and ginger ale pre-takeoff.... then came back a few minutes later with some ginger chews. Throughout the whole flight she kept checking in on me to make sure I was still feeling okay, it was insanely thoughtful of her and the ever-growing baby in my tummy and I felt so taken care of.

We landed in Maui feeling rested and ready for a relaxing vacation! We headed to The Four Seasons and proceeded to read A LOT (I read Less, which was fantastic, and Expecting Better... a new favorite mama-to-be book), drank tons of virgin pina coladas, and ate WAY too much. Plus tanning at the adults-only pool, since it might be our last adults only anything for a while... and, of course, there was tons of beach time!

DSCF4462.jpg

It was incredibly relaxing!! I planned out the baby's nursery, spent some much-needed QT with my cutie hubby, and rejuvenated. Also, did I mention my pre-natal massage? It was AMAZING!

All this to say, thank you so much, Alaska Airlines! And, I think this proved that a babymoon CAN totally come before the honeymoon.
