OOTD: Midi Sweater Dress
DSCF1538.jpg

Sometimes you need to do things a little bit differently…

Who said sweaters have to be worn as layering pieces? If you live in a breezy climate like I do in San Francisco then you know all about light layering. And the cardigan is a breastfeeding Mama’s dream piece. I will say that it has been quite warm these last few weeks in the Bay Area and I’ve been a bit short on time. And you know when the best ideas come to you? When you are running out the door, short on time and want to be comfy cozy and ready for all weather. And there you have it, a longline cardigan by NA-KD worn as a curve-hugging midi dress. I don’t know about you guys but I am FEELIN’ this look.

Mommy and Me Style: Graphic Leopard Print Dress
DSCF1538.jpg

A leopard doesn’t change it’s spots…

and neither should you

Alright, I’ve been converted. Can you tell? I’m officially a fan of animal prints. Ask me a year ago how I felt about them and the story would be vastly different. Today, however, animal prints (traditional, colorful and oversized) are spilling out of my closet. You can be a believer too (and a belieber *cue dancing to Beibs while in your leopard dress*), don’t worry, all it takes is a deep breath little bit of bravery. I’m telling you, this is your new go-to move for an easy, accessible and stylish weekend look. Peek in my closet and you can tell I’m truly obsessed.

Can we also talk about my sweet girl playing peek-a-boo under her blanket in this photo?

If you want to take the plunge and try your hand at a leopard print then check out the shopping guide below. My dress is by Rahi but I’ve included plenty of options for you to test the waters. Good luck! Oh and tag me in your animal print looks so I can see them and shout you out! I love to see whenever you’re inspired by my #OOTDs.

Soft hair, do care ;)

PANTENE PRO-V INTENSE RESCUE SHOTS

My little sister, Savannah, and I are HUGE fans of Pantene! I have since done a few campaigns with them, and I was so incredibly excited to try out their new Pantene Pro-V Intense Rescue Shots.

It really did live up to the hype. My hair truly does have that soft smooth feel that you get from the salon, and it was the perfect hair rescue ;) You apply it from root to tip, leave it in for 30 seconds, wash it out for 30 seconds (as to not over rinse). It doesn’t weigh down your hair, but just gives it a nice smooth feel. Highly recommend and just wanted to let you all know that I LOVE it!! The Pantene Pro-V Rescue Shots were imported from Brazil and just hit shelves in the US in January. You can get your hands on them now at Target. ENjOY!

Fashionable Mom Style: How to rock your pajama pants to coffee

How to wear your pajama pants… to coffee…

Let’s be real for a minute. Every new mama knows that we spend most days in yoga clothes or realistically our pajama pants. It’s not for a lack of desire to put on clothes with actual zippers but we are just running around like crazy people and don’t have time to dress our kids AND ourselves. That said, I feel like I’m about to share a total life hack with you all. Read on to learn more about how I’m conquering my mom style game.

DSCF0271.jpg
DSCF9783.jpg

So there I was, in my pajama pants and I figured out the perfect compromise all thanks to a current street style trend. — Never thought I’d be referencing fashion week for my mom style game, but it was time to get my fashion mojo back. The solution? Silk pajamas pants, dressed up and oh so comfy.

As seen on the streets:

Styled my way:

I love the creative ways these ladies styled their silk pants but I need something that was a little more practical and nursing-friendly. Translation: I need a top that opens down the front for easy access and comfy shoes built to tote around this little nugget. I decided to pair my comfy silk pants by The Knot Sisters with a statement button down top by Storets. The giant bow scarf added a little bit of drama. Add my favorite run-around-town slippers by Birdies and this outfit was just as comfortable and convenient as throwing on my yoga gear. So there you have it, my life hack for new mom’s when you don’t have a lot of time (or energy) to get changed to go out. Don’t worry, pajama pants are absolutely acceptable day wear!

Casual and comfy, but with a fashionable flair…

Now that this little one is in my life I’m carrying my heart around in my arms but why not wear it on my sleeves - literally- as well! I love the color and texture of this sweater by Breath of Youth and they even make it in a cardigan version here. Senna’s adorable heart outfit is from Cozy and Mini Prep Boutique, I’ve included some other adorable alternatives below. I’m really enjoying just taking in each day with this little one and the simple things — like walks through the park to grab a coffee with Smooch.

So, how has my style changed post pregnancy?

To be honest, not much. I still love my activewear and a great wrap dress - which is the perfect nursing option. Cute diaper bags (like this convertible backpack from Luli Bebe) have replaced my purses and I’m living in Birdie flats (which are great for carrying baby and all this gear up and down my front stairs.)

Repetto Ballet Every Day

Repetto - ballet every day!

I grew up dancing. As a girl, I was basically in a jazz, tap, or ballet class every day.  So, when Repetto reached out while I was in Paris I was ecstatic to collaborate!

Refresher or T.I.L.: In case you weren’t a total dance nerd like me. Repetto makes amazing ballet shoes. They invented this specific process and type of stitch called the stitch-and-return that makes for the perfect ballet fit.

After years of perfecting their ballet slippers, they moved on to perfect the daily shoe and beyond. While visiting their store, I fell in love with a pair of black high heels that is a stiletto inspired by a ballet pointe shoe. You can see why the little dancer inside me is so #OBSESSED.

Here's a fun little shoot I got to do in their store in Paris, which was so dreamy. I've also included links for a few of my favorite shoes and corresponding outfits in the shopping guide below. Enjoy!

Vici Dolls is one of my favorite companies to work with.

They constantly have new items and for great prices. I especially love easy anything- but - basic knit dresses that I have clearly been rockin' throughout the second trimester of my pregnancy. Because Vici Dolls gets new items so often I've also put similar dresses below.

Pregnancy Style: Cotton Printed Jumpsuit

My next (pregnancy friendly) Vici Dolls looks is this super comfortably and breathable cotton printed jumpsuit.

I paired this with my ultra-comfortable grey heels that I've been living in throughout my pregnancy as well as a classic denim jacket. Prosciutto, of course, is the ultimate accessory. That is, until baby arrives!

First trimester pregnancy dressing is difficult.

The bump is definitely growing, but not noticeable to everyone quite yet. I can't really show it off yet don't really feel comfortable in my crop tops and matching sets anymore. That's why I've been living in oversized tops and sweaters worn with leg lengthening jeans. These amazing flared jeans are so long they require sky high heels but I don't mind the extra height. This look is all Vici Dolls, one of my favorite places to shop right now.

jumpsuits as maternity wear...who would have thought ...

This striped jumpsuit from Swirl Boutique hides my growing baby bump surprisingly well. I had never considered jumpsuits as maternity wear but I am realizing quite quickly that I value comfort AND style while pregnant. But mainly I just want to be comfortable because when pregnancy fatigue hits, it hits hard. This little number is perfect for running errands around town and relaxing on the couch.

Summer days call for a cotton sundress ...

This printed mini dress from Swirl Boutique was a great choice for a hot summer day. I love the simply, delicate print of the cotton which felt flirty and feminine as well as the flattering waistline. I accessorized this look with my personalized necklace from GLDN and my favorite weekend morning accessory... a Philz Coffee iced mint mojito. If you haven't had one of these babies you really need to head down to your nearest Philz and order one pronto. You may even catch a glimpse of me and Prosciutto waiting in line.

These last few months, I've been a lot more time in Santa Cruz with my fiancé. Although the drive out of the city can be a bit long, it does give me the opportunity to get an early start on summer dressing. It's nice to get away from the San Francisco wind to a bit warmer weather. This dress and jacket combination from N12H was perfect for the sunny streets of Santa Cruz. Did you notice that the bell sleeves on the jacket compliment the peplum hem of the skirt? If you have been staring at that necklace I'm wearing then note it's from my design collaboration with Motif jewelry that launched on April 9th. You can see the full collection over at Motif now.
