Growing babies is hard work…

might as well look good doing it.

OOTD: Midi Sweater Dress
DSCF1538.jpg

Sometimes you need to do things a little bit differently…

Who said sweaters have to be worn as layering pieces? If you live in a breezy climate like I do in San Francisco then you know all about light layering. And the cardigan is a breastfeeding Mama’s dream piece. I will say that it has been quite warm these last few weeks in the Bay Area and I’ve been a bit short on time. And you know when the best ideas come to you? When you are running out the door, short on time and want to be comfy cozy and ready for all weather. And there you have it, a longline cardigan by NA-KD worn as a curve-hugging midi dress. I don’t know about you guys but I am FEELIN’ this look.

Mommy and Me Style: Graphic Leopard Print Dress
DSCF1538.jpg

A leopard doesn’t change it’s spots…

and neither should you

Alright, I’ve been converted. Can you tell? I’m officially a fan of animal prints. Ask me a year ago how I felt about them and the story would be vastly different. Today, however, animal prints (traditional, colorful and oversized) are spilling out of my closet. You can be a believer too (and a belieber *cue dancing to Beibs while in your leopard dress*), don’t worry, all it takes is a deep breath little bit of bravery. I’m telling you, this is your new go-to move for an easy, accessible and stylish weekend look. Peek in my closet and you can tell I’m truly obsessed.

Can we also talk about my sweet girl playing peek-a-boo under her blanket in this photo?

If you want to take the plunge and try your hand at a leopard print then check out the shopping guide below. My dress is by Rahi but I’ve included plenty of options for you to test the waters. Good luck! Oh and tag me in your animal print looks so I can see them and shout you out! I love to see whenever you’re inspired by my #OOTDs.

SHOPBOP SALE ALERT PART 2! Mom Style Must Haves

So you’ve heard all about the ShopBop sale by now…

You still have a day to shop so I’ve put together my dream wishlist of pieces currently on ShopBop in for those soon-to-be mamas and those busy moms on-the-go. Enjoy!

For the stylish expecting mama:

  1. Bodycon Layering Dresses by Ingrid & Isabel (Image 1 here, Image 2 here)

ingri3000452040_q6_2-0._UX357_QL90_.jpg
ingri3000912867_q6_2-0._UX357_QL90_.jpg

I was obsessed with knit bodycon dresses all throughout my pregnancy. It is just too easy to layer a printed kimono, long line jacket or cozy sweater and constantly change up the look.

2. The Maternity Jumpsuit by Hatch (here)

1st Trimest

1st Trimest

2nd Trimester

2nd Trimester

Whether you are 3 months or 6 months, jumpsuits were my most unexpected pregnancy style find. They give that extra room around the middle while still allowing you to be comfortable and on-trend. Check out some of my favorites below.

3. That Knot Life (Knotted Sweater here)

1st Trimester

1st Trimester

4th Trimester- 1.5 Month Post-partum

4th Trimester- 1.5 Month Post-partum

Not quite ready to let the cat out of the bag? Knot front details are an easy way to hide a growing baby bump. I used this trick well into my 2nd trimester.

STYLIST TIP: You can continue to wear these styles throughout your 4th trimester as you let your waistline discretely shrink back to it’s pre-baby size.

For the new mama with little time but a whole lotta style game:

1. Trend watch! Fashionable slippers (These beauties here)

awang431541071c_q6_2-0._UX357_QL90_.jpg

You know what wasn’t hard to find? Examples of me rockin’ my fashionable slippers. Even before baby, these were a staple in my wardrobe. They are trendy, comfy and oh so easy. Clearly they make me pretty happy as well considering the laughter in each of these photos. :) See some of my favorites below with some budget friendly alternatives as well.

Speaking of things in all my photos…

2. Belt Bags are back in style and I’m IN LOVE. (especially this one by Anine Bing)

Photo Mar 24, 1 44 16 PM.JPG

What could be a better trend for mamas than the belt bag trend. Hands free, stylish and a throwback to our youth. I think all of our mothers owned a fanny pack or two in their day.

3. #GIRLPOWER (this Tee here)

princ30054102ca_q6_2-0._UX357_QL90_.jpg

Alright, here’s the deal. We are busy, sometimes breastfeeding, we are a little bit (okay a lotta bit) tired and we just grew a human inside of us for over 9 months. We could use a daily reminder that we are superheroes. Why not indulge in some #FEMALE themed gear for that extra reminder that “You got this Mama!”

So what is this sale anyways?

Here’s the deal. ShopBop is currently having a sale from now until tomorrow, April 12th. You take 20% off orders under $500 or 25% off orders of $500 or more with code EVENT19.

Alright, one for the road. I just couldn’t help myself If you still haven’t found anything I’ve included my wishlist Spring items in the widget below. Happy shopping!

ANIMAL STYLE, COACHELLA INSPIRATION (3)

SHE’S A WILD ONE…. COACHELLA EDITION

To continue my week of FOMO while I wait to see all of the festival looks pop up on Instagram, here are two more of my “if I was going to Coachella this is what I’d wear” looks!

Let’s stop by In-N-Out on the way, cause I’m in the mood for some fries… ANIMAL STYLE!

Photos by Haley Jacobsen

Photos by Haley Jacobsen

LOOK 1

I’ve really started to come around to animal prints, especially when it’s a bright and colorful twist on the traditional leopard print. I love the combination between a casual cotton t-shirt and a silky printed skirt. I also love the fact that I could dance the night away, ride the ferris wheel, AND lounge around in this skirt length without losing the comfort factor. It’s an unexpected hem length to find at Coachella, which makes it even more fashionable in my opinion.

  1. Hutch Leopard Skirt exact item (similar)

  2. Minnie Mouse Lauren Moshi Tee exact item (similar inexpensive)

  3. Kendal & Kylie boot exact (inexpensive Kendal & Kylie)

Photo Mar 24, 1 43 30 PM.jpg

Look 2: Oh, Miss Marilyn

I’m feeling some major Monroe vibes in this photo. I don’t know if it’s the hair, the car, or the animal prints, but this look feels super flirty. I love the heart shaped belt bag from weat and modern take on side swept waves. This stack of bobby pins by Sincerely Jules adds just the right amount of bling. Oh, and I finally found the right outfit to pair with these glittering ankle boots. It’s funny how they almost become a neutral piece in this busy combination. This look just feels fresh for Coachella right now. It really brings back those 50s screen siren inspiration. Any one have a mic?

  1. Leopard dress (exact by Lucy Paris)

  2. Glitter booties exact (similar inexpensive)

  3. Heart purse (exact by weat)

  4. Sincerely Jules bobby pins

LAID BACK COACHELLA LOOKS (2)

LAID BACK COACHELLA LOOKS

Who says Coachella outfits have to be limited to fringe, cut-offs, and bikini tops? Sometimes a girl just wants to feel effortless, quirky, and comfortable. Here are my Coachella inspired laid-back looks to help you plan for this upcoming festival weekend.

Look 1: Retro Sorbet Colored Corduroys

Cropped, cute and colorful. Do you need anything else in a perfect pair of over-alls? I think not. The high-waist makes these flattering and I love the retro racing stripes down the side. Pairing this look with a simple tee and white sneakers keeps it feeling fresh and minimal. I nice contrast from your typical over-the-top festival inspired looks. Best part? I would totally rewear these in day to day mom life.

What you need:

  1. Corduroy Overalls - EXACT from Camp (similar in pink here and here)

  2. Creative Sneakers - Exact here (similar and my other fav tennis shoe here and in pink here)

  3. A Simple Simple White Tee here and here

  4. A scrunchy for when you’ve danced too much and need to throw your hair up! My cousin’s brand Lemonelle!

Photo Mar 24, 3 18 45 PM.jpg

Look 2: All White Everything

Because why not? You already know your outfit will be covered in dust when the festival is finished, so why not take the opportunity to rock head to toe white? I’ll say one thing, you will stay cool and stand out in a very casual way! Add a bandana to cover up your mouth if the dust starts to go crazy ;) There is no better time than a festival to pull up your hair and not worry about it, which is why I rocked a half up with this look. Want to recreate it? Check out my tips below.

What you need:

  1. Sporty White Shirt (exact from ASTARS)

  2. Drop Crotch White Joggers (exact from ASTARS)

  3. Creative Sneakers (exact from Andrew Stevens)

  4. Amazing Earrings

  5. Scrunchy (exact from Lemonelle)

Soft hair, do care ;)

PANTENE PRO-V INTENSE RESCUE SHOTS

My little sister, Savannah, and I are HUGE fans of Pantene! I have since done a few campaigns with them, and I was so incredibly excited to try out their new Pantene Pro-V Intense Rescue Shots.

It really did live up to the hype. My hair truly does have that soft smooth feel that you get from the salon, and it was the perfect hair rescue ;) You apply it from root to tip, leave it in for 30 seconds, wash it out for 30 seconds (as to not over rinse). It doesn’t weigh down your hair, but just gives it a nice smooth feel. Highly recommend and just wanted to let you all know that I LOVE it!! The Pantene Pro-V Rescue Shots were imported from Brazil and just hit shelves in the US in January. You can get your hands on them now at Target. ENjOY!

Fashionable Mom Style: How to rock your pajama pants to coffee

How to wear your pajama pants… to coffee…

Let’s be real for a minute. Every new mama knows that we spend most days in yoga clothes or realistically our pajama pants. It’s not for a lack of desire to put on clothes with actual zippers but we are just running around like crazy people and don’t have time to dress our kids AND ourselves. That said, I feel like I’m about to share a total life hack with you all. Read on to learn more about how I’m conquering my mom style game.

DSCF0271.jpg
DSCF9783.jpg

So there I was, in my pajama pants and I figured out the perfect compromise all thanks to a current street style trend. — Never thought I’d be referencing fashion week for my mom style game, but it was time to get my fashion mojo back. The solution? Silk pajamas pants, dressed up and oh so comfy.

As seen on the streets:

3f314ded14687be6151cae8bfde99b90.jpg

78b7b59693f883e63312621b5ea13cc0.jpg

Styled my way:

I love the creative ways these ladies styled their silk pants but I need something that was a little more practical and nursing-friendly. Translation: I need a top that opens down the front for easy access and comfy shoes built to tote around this little nugget. I decided to pair my comfy silk pants by The Knot Sisters with a statement button down top by Storets. The giant bow scarf added a little bit of drama. Add my favorite run-around-town slippers by Birdies and this outfit was just as comfortable and convenient as throwing on my yoga gear. So there you have it, my life hack for new mom’s when you don’t have a lot of time (or energy) to get changed to go out. Don’t worry, pajama pants are absolutely acceptable day wear!

Casual and comfy, but with a fashionable flair…

Now that this little one is in my life I’m carrying my heart around in my arms but why not wear it on my sleeves - literally- as well! I love the color and texture of this sweater by Breath of Youth and they even make it in a cardigan version here. Senna’s adorable heart outfit is from Cozy and Mini Prep Boutique, I’ve included some other adorable alternatives below. I’m really enjoying just taking in each day with this little one and the simple things — like walks through the park to grab a coffee with Smooch.

So, how has my style changed post pregnancy?

To be honest, not much. I still love my activewear and a great wrap dress - which is the perfect nursing option. Cute diaper bags (like this convertible backpack from Luli Bebe) have replaced my purses and I’m living in Birdie flats (which are great for carrying baby and all this gear up and down my front stairs.)

Don't be a Cheetah...

Don't be a CHEETAH!

...but do wear it.

DSCF8551.jpg

During pregnancy, elastic waistlines have become my new best friend. Seriously though. I was honestly a little worried to try out this skirt since it's high waisted and I currently have, well, no waist at all! To my surprise though it worked just sitting above the bump.  I usually wear XS or S and have been getting a size M (for reference)... the belly is getting very big though so we'll see how long this lasts, haha. Skirt is from Vici, but I've also attached similar skirts in the widget below! Love this rust color sweater with it, since it's all the rage for winter.

DSCF8566.jpg

Frye booties, they were an old fav brand that recently became a new favorite brand. SUPER great quality shoes. Worth the investment! And then a cheetah purse from Becksondergaard, a Copenhagen accessories brand I've become OBSESSED with... because why not accent your cheetah skirt with a cheetah purse, right?

Have fun with prints, take a chance. It works, I promise.

GLDN GIFTING and my husband photobombing me!
DSCF8666.jpg

I'm a fashion/lifestyle blogger. I live in SF with my hubby, deaf doggy, and miniature pig!!! Yup, I'm the weirdo that walks around the streets of San Francisco with a dog on one leash and a miniature black pig on the other. I'm expecting a little girl January 2019, so now pig/dog walks also include a massive belly ;) My husband and I got married (and pregnant, haha) May 2018, and that's when I found out about and fell in love with GLDN. Mother's Day was the day after our wedding, so I arranged to give all the mommies the initial necklaces with their kid's initials on them. EVERY mom fell in love with the personalized gift, and I was ecstatic with my choice to purchase the goodies from GLDN. They made the process SO easy for me. As just purely a customer (before we ever spoke about working together) they took insanely great care of me! For instance, I ordered a necklace for my mom with roman numerals of all three of her kid's wedding dates on it, but apparently, I picked the wrong type of necklace to put the roman numerals on. GLDN emailed me letting me know my options and made it so simple to fix my mistake. Their customer service is impeccable!!!! Plus all the necklaces came with their adorable little cards which saved me time (and money) as well!!! Most importantly, the products are beautiful!!! They are simple, yet gorgeous, pieces that everyone enjoys. I cannot express my gratitude enough for their taking such amazing care of me leading up to my wedding date!!! ...and to this day they are still my go-to present for friends and family. The perfect gift with a little personal touch and love added!!!!

It's Sweater Season!
IMG_4338.jpg

Don't be afraid to be bold with your sweater colors. While I do have a few neutral go-to colors, I find that I honestly end up wearing my baby pink, bright green, and red sweaters the most during holidays. I mean the weather is starting to get a little gloomy and the world is a little less colorful, so why not add some color to it instead of blending in..... ammmmmaaaaaright!?

This sweater is from Vici but I've linked a few similar as well in the widget. Also, lets talk MATERNITY JEANS!!!! I literally had been living in leggings, no joke, until I got these goodies from DL1961 #LIFESAVERS I'm a huge fan of the stretch they have and the below the belly fit. While I am normally a tuck everything in sort of girl with high waisted pants and maternity leggings that cover the belly (or can be folded.... see my fav below in widget from Beyond Yoga. Another lifesaver for the pregnant mama), I wasn't loving the maternity jeans that go over the bump.... these jeans are great below cause you genuinely can't tell they are maternity unless you look INSANELY close at the extra stretch they give you on each hip. I promise you'll love them!!!!

With love,

Chantelle
