might as well look good doing it.

So I don’t know if you heard, but Meghan Markle had her baby this week. And— like a total superwoman— looked super chic for her first post-partum appearance. ANIMAL STYLE, COACHELLA INSPIRATION (3)

SHE’S A WILD ONE…. COACHELLA EDITION

To continue my week of FOMO while I wait to see all of the festival looks pop up on Instagram, here are two more of my “if I was going to Coachella this is what I’d wear” looks!

Let’s stop by In-N-Out on the way, cause I’m in the mood for some fries… ANIMAL STYLE!

Photos by Haley Jacobsen

LOOK 1

I’ve really started to come around to animal prints, especially when it’s a bright and colorful twist on the traditional leopard print. I love the combination between a casual cotton t-shirt and a silky printed skirt. I also love the fact that I could dance the night away, ride the ferris wheel, AND lounge around in this skirt length without losing the comfort factor. It’s an unexpected hem length to find at Coachella, which makes it even more fashionable in my opinion.

  1. Hutch Leopard Skirt exact item (similar)

  2. Minnie Mouse Lauren Moshi Tee exact item (similar inexpensive)

  3. Kendal & Kylie boot exact (inexpensive Kendal & Kylie)

Look 2: Oh, Miss Marilyn

I’m feeling some major Monroe vibes in this photo. I don’t know if it’s the hair, the car, or the animal prints, but this look feels super flirty. I love the heart shaped belt bag from weat and modern take on side swept waves. This stack of bobby pins by Sincerely Jules adds just the right amount of bling. Oh, and I finally found the right outfit to pair with these glittering ankle boots. It’s funny how they almost become a neutral piece in this busy combination. This look just feels fresh for Coachella right now. It really brings back those 50s screen siren inspiration. Any one have a mic?

  1. Leopard dress (exact by Lucy Paris)

  2. Glitter booties exact (similar inexpensive)

  3. Heart purse (exact by weat)

  4. Sincerely Jules bobby pins

LAID BACK COACHELLA LOOKS (2)

LAID BACK COACHELLA LOOKS

Who says Coachella outfits have to be limited to fringe, cut-offs, and bikini tops? Sometimes a girl just wants to feel effortless, quirky, and comfortable. Here are my Coachella inspired laid-back looks to help you plan for this upcoming festival weekend.

Look 1: Retro Sorbet Colored Corduroys

Cropped, cute and colorful. Do you need anything else in a perfect pair of over-alls? I think not. The high-waist makes these flattering and I love the retro racing stripes down the side. Pairing this look with a simple tee and white sneakers keeps it feeling fresh and minimal. I nice contrast from your typical over-the-top festival inspired looks. Best part? I would totally rewear these in day to day mom life.

What you need:

  1. Corduroy Overalls - EXACT from Camp (similar in pink here and here)

  2. Creative Sneakers - Exact here (similar and my other fav tennis shoe here and in pink here)

  3. A Simple Simple White Tee here and here

  4. A scrunchy for when you’ve danced too much and need to throw your hair up! My cousin’s brand Lemonelle!

Photo Mar 24, 3 18 45 PM.jpg

Look 2: All White Everything

Because why not? You already know your outfit will be covered in dust when the festival is finished, so why not take the opportunity to rock head to toe white? I’ll say one thing, you will stay cool and stand out in a very casual way! Add a bandana to cover up your mouth if the dust starts to go crazy ;) There is no better time than a festival to pull up your hair and not worry about it, which is why I rocked a half up with this look. Want to recreate it? Check out my tips below.

What you need:

  1. Sporty White Shirt (exact from ASTARS)

  2. Drop Crotch White Joggers (exact from ASTARS)

  3. Creative Sneakers (exact from Andrew Stevens)

  4. Amazing Earrings

  5. Scrunchy (exact from Lemonelle)

OOTD: Baby bumps and band tees

First trimester pregnancy dressing is difficult.

The bump is definitely growing, but not noticeable to everyone quite yet. I can't really show it off yet don't really feel comfortable in my crop tops and matching sets anymore. That's why I've been living in oversized tops and sweaters worn with leg lengthening jeans. These amazing flared jeans are so long they require sky high heels but I don't mind the extra height. This look is all Vici Dolls, one of my favorite places to shop right now.

jumpsuits as maternity wear...who would have thought ...

This striped jumpsuit from Swirl Boutique hides my growing baby bump surprisingly well. I had never considered jumpsuits as maternity wear but I am realizing quite quickly that I value comfort AND style while pregnant. But mainly I just want to be comfortable because when pregnancy fatigue hits, it hits hard. This little number is perfect for running errands around town and relaxing on the couch.

Shopping Guide:

Summer whites + Vionic heels

Who would have thought that heels could be built for comfort...

....but these heels from vionic combine support and style.

Also, let's talk about this white two-piece set from Swirl Boutique? I swear, they have the best selection of fun, trendy but versatile pieces. Swirl has mastered cool Cali-girl style. I picked up this tied crop top and matching mini skirt the last time I was in Orange County visiting my sister. I have been loving this tied crop top style for the last season or two and think it's such a fun, easy and sexy shape. This low neckline, however, definitely calls for some layered necklaces. I chose two necklaces with very special meanings. The first is a personalized vertical bar necklace from GLDN with my wedding date engraved on it. The second is a personalized moonphase necklace from Moonglow Jewelry with an image of what the moon looked like on the night that I got married. I really love that these necklaces each tell a similar story but don't necessarily match each other perfectly.

Now back to those shoes. I'm not exaggerating the comfort. I was really impressed with Vionic's fashion-forward styles. I've included a link to these specific shoes below as well as alternative options in my shopping guide. My hat is from Lack of Color (my go-to hat brand), you really can't go wrong with their classic designs. And last but not least... did you notice my bright blue toes?

Alright guys, what do you think? What's more important style or comfort? Do you have a favorite personalized piece of jewelry? Let me know in your comments below.

Summer days call for a cotton sundress ...

This printed mini dress from Swirl Boutique was a great choice for a hot summer day. I love the simply, delicate print of the cotton which felt flirty and feminine as well as the flattering waistline. I accessorized this look with my personalized necklace from GLDN and my favorite weekend morning accessory... a Philz Coffee iced mint mojito. If you haven't had one of these babies you really need to head down to your nearest Philz and order one pronto. You may even catch a glimpse of me and Prosciutto waiting in line.

You all know that I love a great maxi dress...

I live in them!!! So, I was thrilled when I found this maxi dress by Cleobella. It's a great day or night V-day date outfit, and I love the cleverly placed florals ;) Cleobella can do no wrong in my eyes though!!!  ...hence why I paired it with their clutch. Regardless of what you wear this Valentines Day though, I hope you feel sexy and loved!!!

Valentine's Looks-17.jpg

The bodice of this dress is so beautifully detailed that I chose not to over accessorize it and simply let the neckline do the work for itself. I paired it with a maroon suede heel by Sam Edelman and this oversized embellished clutch by Cleobella.

OOTD: Graphic tee and pleated skirt

Girl, you better "werk"...

....when your work uniform is jeans and tees, how do you dress it up for the occasional meeting?

I feel really lucky that I usually work from home (if I'm honest, usually in my pjs). BUT, I wanted to find a fun way to jazz up the normal 9-5 casual work outfit! By throwing this skirt in your bag, you can head straight over to date night from work ;) or if you're like me and work from home, it's a great outfit for a more casual meeting. Either way, I'm obsessed with the print of this Cara Loren skirt (similar here)!

DSCF1703.jpg

I've been loving midi length skirts this year, and am surprised at how flattering they can be on my 5'5" frame. Of course, a good pair of platforms never hurt to add some height. I paired this Cara Loren pleated animal print skirt (similar here) with my favorite heel of the moment by Chinese Laundry. This rose metallic color has been shockingly versatile in my wardrobe and almost acts as a neutral when paired with the right color combinations. Now let's talk about this tee (also by Cara Loren), I'm not one to take myself too seriously -- as I'm sure you can tell -- which is why I absolutely love this "WERK" graphic tee. What better way to put on your Boss Babe face than by wearing a powerful graphic tee?

Check out some of my other favorite tees in the shopping guide below.

When life gives you lemons...

XIX Palms Lemon Dress

....throw on a matching floral print and take some pictures.

I've been following the brand XIX palms for a while now - I'm pretty positive it's called Nineteen Palms but don't quote me on that. The lovely founder was one of the first few companies that I started working with in fashion and I've continued to be a fan of her bohemian printed dresses and flattering silhouettes ever since. Somehow, they always make me feel sexy and slim by accentuating all the right places. She has found the perfect point at your waist to make you feel 5 lbs slimmer (not that you need to be at all, you're perfect as is, little lady!). BUT, I feel like I can always down a pizza and still feel fabulously confident... and if that isn't a reason to buy a dress, what is?

Printed wrap dresses are part of my signature look and I try to use various styles of accessories to change the feeling of the outfit from boho, to edgy, chic or dressed up. This time I simply paired this yellow floral print with my rose-colored, velvet Chinese Laundry shoes from Zooshoo. These massive platforms are the first step to getting date night ready with my 6' 5" fiance!

OOTD: Effortless Vacation Style in Hawaii
Knot Sisters Dress
The Knot Sisters Dress 2

As you can probably tell from my Instagram feed, I've been traveling non-stop for the last month. First we went to Costa Rica, then to Orange County to celebrate the holidays and on to Hawaii to bring in the New Year. It's been an amazing break and a great adventure but now I'm headed back home to San Francisco and couldn't be more excited for everything that's to come in 2018. Luckily, most of my travel time was spent in tropical destinations so packing for a month straight was fairly easy. The trick to my vacation style success? Effortless dresses that are breezy, flattering and can be easily translated from beach days to dinner nights. This coral dress from The Knot Sisters is, by far, one of my favorites that I brought along. I've included a full list of my breezy dress favorites for you. If you want the exact dress I lived in this last month shown above, you can find it here.  Note: It's currently on sale! I absolutely love this brand's effortless Southern California style and the way they style their pieces is always perfectly on point. Don't believe me, just look at the photos below.

Photography by my bestie, Rachel Brooks .

Photography by my bestie, Rachel Brooks .

You guys already know how much I love my coffee, and because it's a daily ritual of mine I tend to go on a lot of coffee dates. These photos were taken by Rachel from 5 o'clock Sunday, aka my bestie behind the camera most days. We were on our way to As Quoted, one of our favorite local coffee shops in Pacific Heights. You can catch me there devouring a sweet Maca toast at least 1 to 2 days a week so come say hello!

And I'll be honest, I'm usually running a bit behind when Rachel picks me up so anything easy, casual and comfy is my go-to. This outfit in particular is from my "Auntie's" shop. Honestly, there are times when a girl just does not want to squeeze herself into tight leggings and a crop top. That is why I was so drawn to this knit poncho and slouchy pant look.

I was worried that these earthy neutrals wouldn't feel feminine enough on me so I added an unexpected pop of baby pink. And that pink bag that you are drooling over right now? It's the Blake Collection from Teddy Blake and carries just about anything you can think of. The reason I love this brand is because the quality is really high while the price is shockingly less expensive than those high end designer bags. When I compare it to some of my luxury handbags I truly can't tell which is higher end. I suppose that's the key to great design, right? I also always try to buy bags in statement colors - like pink or blue - because it's an easy way to add interest to an otherwise neutral outfit but don't worry, this bag also comes in basic black.

Oh and those shoes? Greats brand again, I wasn't kidding when I told you they were my new obsession.

Can you believe this OOTD is under $100?

Why else would I be smiling?

So I'm never one to shy away from paying for that one perfect piece that I know I'll love forever, but I will say that I much prefer adorable fashion finds that don't cost an arm and a leg. I especially love this when trying out trends that come and go quickly like these fringed denim pants. I still find it hard to believe that this whole entire outfit can be purchased for under $100 total and look this luxe on. Just to be sure, I put it through the hardest test I could find... Friendsgiving with some of my most stylish friends. I have to be honest with you, there were more than a few "where did you get that" comments.
